Coaxing an Overweight Orangutan Onto the Scales | Monkey Life Season 5 Episode 20

After eight years of total isolation in a tiny cage, smuggled chimpanzee Kiki is finally introduced to dominant alpha male Hananya. Completely unaware of dangerous chimpanzee politics, she immediately picks a fight with the biggest ape in the room, forcing the alpha to assert his dominance with a terrifying display! Meanwhile, the primate care team attempts to coax overweight rescue orangutan Oshene onto the weighing scales to check the progress of her strict diet. Over at the gibbon house, orphaned baby Micardo hits a major milestone as his fur rapidly changes from bright orange to solid black. The agile squirrel monkeys tap into their wild instincts to hunt down giant live locusts, and a troop of elderly stump-tailed macaques recently retired from a medical laboratory step out into a custom-built forest enclosure for the very first time! Monkey Life follows the work of Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre with nail-biting rescue and rehabilitation stories. Whilst there are primates in need, Dr. Alison Cronin, Jeremy Keeling and their dedicated team continue to fight the illegal trade in primates and give those rescued a safe haven for the rest of their lives.
