BIG BOY 4014 on the Reading & Northern!! | Two of the World's MOST ICONIC LOCOMOTIVES Race in PA!

As a part of the 250th Birthday of the United States of America, Union Pacific is hosting a coast-to-coast tour featuring their 4-8-8-4 Big Boy #4014. A recent acquisition of Norfolk Southern RR trackage has allowed UP to operate on lines to the East Coast, making this trip possible. Additionally, UP was granted rights to operate on the Reading & Northern's mainline from Nesquehoning to Pittston, PA. This created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: being able to see two of the most iconic, well-renowned steam engines in the world operate side by side! The R&N operates a T-1 Class 4-8-4 #2102, at 110.5 ft and 809,000 lbs. Union Pacific's Big Boy sits at 132.75 ft and 1,208,750 lbs. Seeing these two massive units tearing up the rails and blasting their whistles was a TRUE bucketlist item! The R&N's diesels are also featured, both operating excursions, and rescuing 2102 after running out of coal. Title cards are included throughout the video to provide more information. Questions?
