ASKARI | Becoming a Grumeti Fund Scout

What does it take to become an Askari? A month of determination, discipline and perseverance. Becoming an anti-poaching scout with the Grumeti Fund takes more than physical strength. It requires resilience, teamwork, courage and a deep commitment to protecting wildlife. Askari follows the journey of those undertaking this demanding training, offering a glimpse into the challenges they face, the lessons they learn and the dedication required to become part of the team protecting the western Serengeti. Behind every scout is a commitment to something bigger than themselves: safeguarding wildlife, protecting this landscape and securing a future for generations to come. This is what it takes to become an Askari.
