The Slate Truck starts at $24,950, or $26,400 with the destination charge, according to InsideEVs. But the base truck has no radio, no center screen and no paint, and it has not started delivering yet. We compare it with the two electric cars on sale in America with the lowest starting prices: the Chevrolet Bolt and the Nissan Leaf.

GOOD TO KNOW
The Slate Truck has not started customer deliveries as of this video. Dates are plans, not guarantees.
The Slate's 205-mile range is Slate's own estimate, not an EPA rating.
Slate's $24,950 price excludes the $1,450 destination charge. The Bolt's $28,995 includes destination. The Leaf's $29,990 does not. Compare them with that in mind.
"Cheapest EV in America" claims come from InsideEVs (for the Slate) and from Chevrolet (for the Bolt). We report them as their claims.
The BYD Seagull price is a China list price, converted to dollars by CnEVPost. The reports we used do not mention plans to sell it in the United States.
