For me, this game will remain an unforgettable, top‑tier experience - a new kind of “youth” carved into my life. It’s been a just year since I uploaded my first video related to Epic War 4: Beyond The Dark by Xernery’s Mod 3.0, and this one marks my 12th. In spiritual symbolism, the number 12 represents the completion of a cycle - like 12 months in a year or 12 hours on a clock - and hints at the beginning of a new stage. It feels almost like a sign that the order and rhythm of the universe are aligning in our lives, guiding us toward the next step. I didn’t just play through the game normally - I set up all kinds of challenge runs and enjoyed pushing the limits. At first, I replayed various levels using end‑game units and spells under “Titan‑only” restrictions. Later, I started exploring “how far can this actually be cleared?” and created my own “Ultimate Challenges” to take on. Through all of this, it felt almost like I was making a game myself. I even created pseudo‑new maps and combined them with video editing to make it look like the game got a new update lol. My friend even told me, “This looks like a board game layout” lol. Through this game, I feel like I’ve enjoyed Epic War in every possible way: as a pure player, as a debugger‑like tester, as a creator, as a researcher-like player, and most of all, as a source of raw creative inspiration. I really do feel like I’ve enjoyed the Epic War series down to the bone. My gratitude goes to Rudy Sudarto and the project team who created such a unique and innovative game during the golden age of Flash games. And to Xerney, who created this mod among the many fan‑made Epic War mods - you have my deepest thanks. The game you all created has left a strong impression and given wonderful experiences to so many people. For me personally, it’s no exaggeration to say that Epic War has become a part of my life - a piece of my own “youth.” Even now, and from here on, Epic War will continue to live in my heart, and the feelings it gave many people will keep resurfacing unconsciously through the things they create. Also, because the intro of “Undead Chase” by SoS (Symphony of Spectors), used in PF, has a rhythm slightly similar to the “maitake maitake guru‑guru‑guru‑guru” refrain from the once‑popular “Maitake Dance” by Juufuutei Raden, we started calling the levels that uses this track the “Maitake Stage” lol.
