Village Life in the Carpathians 🍄 Fresh Potatoes, Mushrooms and Outdoor Cooking

🌿 High in a Carpathian village by the river, Oksana lives with her husband Vasyl and their three children. Today, she takes Vladyslav and little Veronika high into the hills to dig fresh potatoes from their own field. While their mother fills a bucket with potatoes, the children pick green beans, play together and search for wild mushrooms. Not far from the field, they suddenly discover beautiful birch boletes and proudly bring their harvest back to their parents. 🍄🥔 At home, Vasyl is still recovering from his accident and uses a wheelchair because his broken legs need more time to heal. The children happily show him the mushrooms they found before the family continues their peaceful day together. Oksana lights an outdoor fire below the house and begins preparing traditional Carpathian food. She cooks fresh green beans with meat and a special sour cream and egg sauce, a local dish called “lopatky z muchankoyu.” She also boils the freshly harvested potatoes and marinates mackerel with lemon using her special family recipe. 🥘🐟🍋 While the meal is cooking, the children swim and play happily in the pool under their mother’s careful supervision. Little Dominichka also comes to visit, and even Vasyl joins the family outside in his wheelchair. Soon, everyone gathers under the terrace to enjoy a delicious homemade dinner cooked over an open fire. Later, Oksana and Veronika tie fresh garlic into bundles and hang it to dry.
