LAS VEGAS FLASH FLOOD TURNS DEADLY — 1 Dead After Henderson Wash Rescue, Driver Saved From Car Roof

A Friday afternoon flash flood in Henderson and Las Vegas, Nevada, turned deadly. A person pulled from a flooded wash near Lake Mead Parkway and North Pueblo Boulevard went into cardiac arrest and died, the City of Henderson says. It was one of three water rescues at the same time in Henderson: a car with two people inside was pushed off Lake Mead Parkway near Lake Las Vegas, and a driver climbed onto the roof of a stalled car on North Milan Street. Las Vegas firefighters reported four more water rescues in about ten minutes. County rain gauges in east Henderson picked up more than an inch and a half of rain, Lake Mead Parkway closed with rocks and mud, and on Halloween night the National Weather Service issued a new Flash Flood Warning for Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Summerlin, with an atmospheric river bringing more rain to the Southwest through Monday. Figures as of Saturday night, October 31, 2026.
