The Gamka River was in full flood through the town. Big hailstorm in Standerton today. Then, Durban got 10 hours of rain today. Rain in Still Bay and Ermelo as a big Cold Front moves over South Africa. An elephant bull was in the road in the Addo Elephant National Park. Condor arrived early this morning from Frankfurt at Cape Town International Airport. A herd of zebras crossed the road in the Kruger National Park, and we will show you more from across South Africa Today. South Africa Weather for Today & Tomorrow Update Bitterly cold, wet, and windy conditions will persist across the Eastern Cape Province, KwaZulu-Natal Province, Free State Province, and parts of the Karoo, extending into the Highveld as a strong winter system maintains its grip on the region. Heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms remain possible in the Eastern Cape Province, Free State Province, KwaZulu-Natal Province, and parts of the Northern Cape, raising the risk of flooding, dangerous road conditions, and localized power disruptions. Significant snowfall is forecast for Lesotho and the Southern Drakensberg, with lighter snow possible in high-lying areas of the Eastern Cape Province, leading to hazardous travel and potential loss of livestock. Strong winds will continue to affect western regions, particularly in the Northern and Western Cape, where they may cause further damage. The South African Weather Service has issued several impact-based warnings, including an orange level 6 alert for disruptive rain along the KwaZulu-Natal coast and interior, as well as multiple yellow level warnings for severe storms, disruptive snow, and damaging winds across the affected provinces. Residents are advised to prepare for rapidly changing weather and to take extra care on the roads, while a high fire danger persists over the western Bushveld of Limpopo Province.
