Welcome to my Alta Via 1 backpacking adventure through the Italian Dolomites! Day 4 on the Alta Via 1: Hiking from Rifugio Lagazuoi to Rifugio Nuvolau! Join us on day four of our Dolomites adventure as we leave the incredible heights of Rifugio Lagazuoi and journey into the heart of the Cortina basin. Today’s stage takes us down through historic World War I trenches, past the iconic and towering rock formations of Cinque Torri, and finishes with a steep, thrilling climb up to the historic Rifugio Nuvolau, perched dramatically on a narrow mountain ridge with 360-degree views.
