Welcome to Day 1 of my Alta Via 1 backpacking adventure through the Italian Dolomites! Today, we kick off the iconic 120km trek starting at the world-famous Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee). Watch as we leave the turquoise lakeside crowds behind and take on the grueling, steep climb up to the Sora al Forn pass. We will push past rugged limestone walls, cross the high-altitude alpine plateau, and finally arrive at our home for the night: Rifugio Sennes.
