Model A Ford valve adjustment

I am no expert, this is my 1st shot at this ~ but it seems easy enough. If you are an 'expert' please comment if I'm doing it wrong. Basically, I had a 'self locking' adjustable lifter come loose on my car, leaving #2 exhaust valve with about .110 clearance (almost an eighth of an inch) ~ symptoms involved lifter noise, rough running and backfiring. I did not trust the 'self locking' bit involved with this lifter. All the other valves were pretty close to proper adjustment (.011" for intake, .013" for exhaust) ~ so I put the bad one back and peened the threads with a very sharp center point so I could get the bolt right above the lifter ~ hoping to discourage it from changing on me again.
