Sunset & Southwestern Railroad - Rio Grande Southern Inspired Garden Railroad - G Scale

Hey everyone! Today I had the opportunity to swing by Joe Becker's house and check out his awesome G scale garden railway! Being the president of the Galloping Goose Historical Society and living in Dolores, the railroad is definitely inspired by the Rio Grande Southern that once existed in southwest Colorado until the 1950s. You'll see in the video his amazing 1:20.3 gauge Accucraft K-27 2-8-2 painted up as RGS #461 hauling a stock car train across his railroad as well as a smaller LGB 2-6-0 that is actually battery powered and made the rounds with a small freight load and later a short passenger train. And the last video clip is of a set of LGB White Pass and Yukon ALCO diesels hauling a D&RGW load of passenger cars. It is a wonderful layout with 3 percent grades and fantastic scratch built trestles and buildings including the Dolores depot!
