Zaghloul brings the flavors of Ehden and Zgharta straight to Jdeideh, Beirut. The story started back in 1977, with roots in Ehden and Zgharta, before the family decided to bring their food closer to the people of Beirut. Today, Zaghloul combines the spirit of Lebanese street food with a full Lebanese restaurant experience. We started outside with their shawarma and sandwiches, but once you enter, the experience becomes much bigger. On the table: beautiful goat meat, traditional mezze, fresh hummus with Lebanese olive oil, grilled meats, kebab, kafta and some seriously good shawarma. And of course, you cannot talk about Zgharta without Kibbeh Zghartawiyeh. Grilled over charcoal, filled with fat the traditional way, crispy outside, juicy inside and carrying that unmistakable smoky flavor. This is food that takes you back to the villages of North Lebanon.
