Frank Arok's Socceroos take on Roy Hodgson's Malmö FF at Parramatta Stadium on 22 February 1989, recording a convincing 3-0 victory in the second and final match of their two-game series.
Graham Arnold and Warren Spink put Australia two goals ahead before half-time, with substitute Paul Trimboli adding a third in the closing stages. Paul Wade features in an Australian side also including Alan Davidson, Oscar Crino, Jason Polak and Scott Ollerenshaw.
It was a successful series for the Socceroos, with the only sour note coming in the opening match when Malmö's Martin Dahlin was sent off just before full-time.
The visiting Swedish club was managed by Roy Hodgson, years before his time in charge of England. There was also a memorable moment after this second encounter when Hodgson and Arok swapped their team jackets - a fitting way to bring the series to a close.

Rale Rasic and Manfred Schaefer - SBS feature
A separate SBS segment brings together two figures from Australia's historic 1974 FIFA World Cup campaign, this time in opposing dugouts. Rale Rasic, who coached the Socceroos at their first World Cup finals, leads Parramatta Eagles against Sydney United, coached by Manfred Schaefer - one of his centre-backs at those finals in West Germany.
Their meeting came in the 1993/94 National Soccer League Cup final, with Rasic's Eagles winning 2-0 through a Velimir Kupresak own goal and a late Brendan Renaud strike.
