Driving From McDonough GA to Locust Grove GA | Road Construction & Neighborhood Drive

Driving from McDonough, Georgia toward Locust Grove through local roads, residential neighborhoods and an active road-paving project in Henry County. 🚗🚧 The drive begins around the Lake Dow Road and Travis Drive area of McDonough, moving past local businesses before transitioning into residential streets around Petunia Court and then onto Iris Lake Road. That’s where the drive gets especially interesting. A section of Iris Lake Road had been scraped in preparation for repaving, leaving the roadway looking almost like gravel for roughly a mile or more. Farther ahead, an active paving crew was working on the road and reducing the two lane roadway to one lane while construction workers directed traffic through the work zone. The drive later continues past additional construction cones along Harris Drive before entering the Williamsburg Plantation area and traveling along Lincoln Log Way. From there, the route eventually returns toward Harris Drive and ends near SR 42 heading toward Locust Grove. This isn’t an interstate drive. It’s an everyday look at the local roads, neighborhoods, development and road work connecting parts of McDonough and Locust Grove. 📍 McDonough, Georgia → Locust Grove, Georgia 📍 Henry County, GA 🛣️ Lake Dow Rd • Iris Lake Rd • Harris Drive • SR 42 🏘️ Residential Neighborhoods 🚧 Active Road Repaving & Construction 🚦 One-Lane Traffic Control 🎥 Continuous Real-Time Drive 🔊 Natural Road & Vehicle Sounds If you enjoy seeing what Georgia communities actually look like from the road, subscribe and ride along.
