IELTS Listening Test 30 | From School Play Costumes to the First Wheelbarrow, All 40 Answers

Test 30 of our IELTS-style Listening series: a full standard test in the real exam's format, four parts and 40 questions. Part 1: a primary school teacher phones a costume hire shop to order animal costumes for her class's end-of-term play, and you fill in the order form and the notes on the costumes. Part 2: an officer from a water company tells residents how the old pipes under their streets will be replaced, with a matching task on what happens in each street and multiple choice on what residents should do. Part 3: two tourism students plan a presentation on whether volunteer tourism really helps the places it visits, drawing on one student's trip to a turtle project. Part 4: part of a lecture on the history of the wheelbarrow, from ancient Greece and Han China to the steel tray and the air-filled tyre, as one-word notes. The answer key, a band guide and an explanation for every answer come at the end. It is an original test, not taken from any Cambridge book, so you have not heard it before. How to use it Get a pen and paper ready and write as you listen. Play each part straight through, with no pauses, as in the exam. Mark your answers only when the answer key comes up at the end. Then read the explanation for every answer you got wrong.
