Recent storms in Southern Arizona gave me hope that Bridal Wreath Falls would be flowing in Saguaro National Park East. I hiked out from Douglas Spring Trail in order to check out the falls and see if there really was a waterfall flowing in the Sonoran Desert. This hike features excellent desert landscape and far away views of the Santa Catalina Mountains and Tucson Arizona.
Though the falls weren't flowing, the Riparian area at the end showed strong signs of life. Grasses were green and lush (for Arizona) with plenty of trees lining the ephemeral stream. This hike is a must do in Saguaro National Park as it prominently displays what makes the Sonoran Desert so unique and beautiful.
