UFO -The only time I've been scared at sea

My first yacht was an Invicta 26 which is likely to be the one I sailed when I encountered the UFO. Looking through my old logbooks, I find no reference to UFO in capital letters, no exclamation marks, perhaps I thought I shouldn't enter it in what is an official book, I'm sorry now. It's the only Irish Sea return trip in hours of darkness in that era. (Which is when I had the encounter) I was returning from a cruise which took me as far as Kinsale. It was 1989, the time of Maxi racing and as I was entering Cork harbour, Maiden, with it's all female crew, slowly overtook me, taking part in a Rothmans race, my boat flying along under full sail plus spinnaker, I was keen then. This is a true account with no exaggeration of that last leg across the Irish Sea. It's time it was told.
