Minute Out In It: Plowing the Beartooth Highway

Our crews are hard at work plowing the Beartooth Highway (US-212) for the summer season! We partner with both Montana and Wyoming departments of transportation each year to open this high-elevation road between Cooke City and Red Lodge, Montana. This stunning mountain drive usually opens the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and closes sometime in mid-October. However, due to variable weather conditions, it's important to check both MT DOT and WY DOT for current road status before traveling!
