WCML Closure Creates A Busy Day On The Diversion Route:

With a full WCML closure at Atherstone in North Warwickshire, all traffic was diverted between Rugby & Stafford through the West Midlands. All the additional Avanti services & freight caused some considerable congestion with trains often running 'block to block'. This video focuses on the freight workings (as captioned) through Birmingham International, Lea Hall and Stechford . The latter being the point where diverted trains turn off the main line into Birmingham and travel through the eastern suburbs towards Bescot and Wolverhampton.
