We don't need more robot builders, we need to build the bridge

On Wednesday I went to the Cross-Border Table in Schlieren. Robotics founders and investors from Zurich, Berlin, Beijing and Shenzhen. I am not a robotics person. So I listened. Five things I heard: China pushes for scale and punishes for being late. Europe punishes for being wrong. Startups in Shenzhen don't own factories. They own the design and the software. You can't find the right Chinese factory on a website. You have to go there. Europe's old messy factories are the hardest problem in automation, and the biggest chance. The robot body will get cheap. The job will not. The gap between Europe and China is not talent or money. It is the bridge: the trips, the documents, the trust. That is what I want bettta to build.
