Metallica plays 2 intimate shows at the now closed Slims for Metallica fan club members only!!! This is day 2. The infamous Slim Slam! Willy was suppose to be the filmer for this gig. But according to Otto, the band did not want the shows taped and kept an eye on him during the sets. We - Willy, Joe, Otto and I were gathered outside the venue hashing out a game plan of who was going to film and how we'd do it. "Gary, they don't know you yet so you do it." Sure! I was set to try to pull it off anyways. But with Willy on managements radar, he decoyed them away from me in the small balcony. We were able to pull off both nights from the same seat. I filmed it with my camera, Willy has the masters. Side note - When Willy found out he could not film, he almost had a nervous breakdown by running down 11th street like a crazy madman yelling and screaming! Especially since he came all the way from Florida.
