Abdul Majid Bhat (Larmi) from Anantnag of southern Kashmir is a senior National Conference politician whose family is associated with Abdullah family and the party since 1931. In this conversation with 74 East, Bhat talks about corruption within NC, a lobby led by Nasir Aslam Wani and Shammi Oberoi that has hijacked the party and a rebellion that is aimed to strengthen the party not to break it. Larmi says despite the promises and calls from the party leadership he was not included in the council of ministers in the recent reshuffle and expansion and instead corrupt people were given ministerial berths. Larmi was part of a group of around 20 NC leaders who met on October 30 in Srinagar at a colleagues house to express their displeasure about party functioning in which they prepared a memorandum to "rectify and cleanse" the grand old party of Kashmir. Larmi says they swore by Quran to get the party back on track but he is not on the path of Aga Ruhullah.
