The Carnival Splendor in Sydney on 18 September, 2026.
Docked at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay, Carnival Splendor arrived before dawn on this day, took on supplies and passengers then departed for a nine-night South Pacific Islands cruise that afternoon.
On this day, I thought I'd try my Canon HFG70 camcorder in a setting that I hadn't yet tested it in; filming around Sydney Harbour, both on land and out on the water.
Here, we see Carnival Splendor sitting at the wharf on a glorious spring day, beginning with the first of two passes from a Sydney ferry. This video includes general views of the ship whilst berthed; footage of her starboard lifeboats and hull from the Overseas Passenger Terminal observation area; luggage and supplies being loaded; views from the Cahill Expressway; plus, the arrival of two tugs, Engage Maverick and Engage Titan, as they connect with hawsers and assist Carnival Splendor manoeuvre and depart for her cruise.
The departure was filmed from the Sydney Opera House, and the ship is filmed sailing around Bradleys Head and the naval memorial featuring mast of the HMAS Sydney before disappearing out of sight.
A short time later, Carnival Adventure departed White Bay Cruise Terminal, and her departure was also filmed and is available on this channel.
Also included are timestamps and small pieces of information scattered throughout the video.
Thanks for watching!!
