Too tired to work, but not too tired to scroll? In one experiment, people who just watched numbers for twenty minutes ended up feeling more tired than people doing maths with them.
We take the word "tired" apart like a battery on a workbench. Inside: boredom (sleepy and restless at once), why the phone feels like a charger and what a study that logged people's phones found afterwards, three famous fakes (the willpower tank, an untraceable decisions-per-day number and the hungry judges), your body clock (sleep inertia and social jet lag), what a little movement did in small studies, real mental wear, and the late hour. Plus a one-week light log to spot which kind of tired you've got.

This video is psychology curiosity, not medical advice or a diagnosis. Tired for a few weeks and not sure why, or is it getting in the way of your life? Please see a doctor. Several findings come from small or single studies; the caveats are in the video.
