Sthenelus of Athens: The Forgotten Defender of Ancient Greece

Sthenelus of Athens: The Forgotten Defender of Ancient Greece Historical accuracy note: Sthenelus is a relatively obscure name in the history of the Persian Wars, and surviving ancient accounts do not provide enough reliable detail to confidently identify him as a major Athenian commander during the invasion of Greece in 480 BCE. This documentary will distinguish established historical events from uncertain claims, using Sthenelus as the central figure in a story about the lesser-known defenders of Athens.
