[Verse 1 — The World Without a Voice] We stepped beyond the concert doors, Where night had swallowed street and sky, No distant bells, no passing cars, No stars to tell us where or why. Our hands could pass through flesh and bone, Yet walls still held their ancient ground; We were alive, yet all alone, In a world that had forgotten sound. [Verse 2 — The Measure of Gravity] Then Kenneth climbed eighteen metres high, And leapt into the frozen air; He struck the earth beneath the sky, And rose untouched, without despair. Nine metres gained by gravity's hand, The last old law that still remained; We measured what we could not understand, While all the light of heaven waned. [Chorus 1 — The Weight of Persona Iron] Oh, lay down the iron you carry inside, The mask and the measure, the armour of pride. For love is no bargain, no debt to repay, No stone can imprison the light of the day. The acorn sleeps where the great oak begins, And truth grows beyond all the world's measured sins. We wander through darkness, yet still we are free, When nothing we love must belong unto me. [Verse 3 — The Sixty-Five Days] The sun had fallen silent, its fire undone, Eight minutes of borrowed light, then none. The Earth had ceased its ancient flight, And fell toward the furnace beyond the night. Sixty-five days till the world would break, Till the tides of the dying heavens would wake; And William spoke of a weightless soul, Of love without a price, beyond control. [Verse 4 — Boris and the Malice Faction] But Boris heard only his son's last fate, A heart turned to stone, a grief turned to hate. “If goodness has made us too weightless to stay, Then malice shall carry our spirits away!” He gathered the bitter, the wounded, the damned, With Kira beside him, their anger unplanned. Their fists passed through bodies, their cruelty stayed; They wounded with words where no hand could invade. [Chorus 2 — The Weight of Persona Iron] Oh, lay down the iron you carry inside, The mask and the measure, the armour of pride. For hatred grows heavy, but heaviness lies; It darkens the heart without opening skies. The acorn holds forests no eye can yet see, The oak asks no witness to prove it must be. We wander through darkness, yet still we are free, When love is no chain and the soul holds no key. [Bridge — The Oak Tree and the Stilled Heart] A pinecone lay scattered beneath Kenneth's hand, But Lira knew well the tree of her land. Then William found acorns, small seeds on the ground, And truth came through touch where no sight could be found. Behind the open doorway, in the cold of the room, Her husband sat stonified, imprisoned in gloom. His glasses, his paper, his hands resting still, A life spent proving his worth by his will. She could not restore him, could not bargain with fate, Could not make possession undo what was late. So she turned to the darkness and whispered her plea: “Give me the sun, and the wind, and let children laugh free. Give me birdsong at morning, a strawberry's taste, The sunset, the sunrise—no moment to waste.” [Outro — Instruments fall away; a single whistle answers the silence] And Kenneth began with a tune soft and clear, A breath through the darkness, a song for the ear. No promise of rescue, no theory, no plea, Just a sound that belonged to no one but the breeze. Past cobblestones sleeping, past houses of night, We followed the whistle, a thread of living light. Toward the church in the north, through the cold and the deep, While the stars held their silence, and the world could not sleep. [Final whisper — Solo lute, then silence] The heart need not hold what it loves to be true.
