Git Collaboration Workflow | Simulate a Real-World Two-Developer Project In this video, we simulate a real software development workflow involving two developers working on the same GitHub project. Developer A creates the initial repository, while Developer B clones the project, creates a feature branch, implements a new feature, pushes the branch to GitHub, and creates a Pull Request. We then review the changes and merge the Pull Request into the main branch. This project is designed to help beginners understand how Git and GitHub are used for collaboration in real development teams. DEVELOPER A Developer A acts as the repository owner and performs the initial project setup. Steps: Create the GitHub repository Create the local project Initialize Git Add project files Commit the initial version Push the project to GitHub Maintain the main branch DEVELOPER B Developer B acts as the contributor. Steps: Clone the repository Navigate into the project Create a feature branch Implement a new feature Test the changes Create a meaningful commit Push the feature branch Create a Pull Request GIT WORKFLOW The complete workflow is: Developer A creates repository ↓ Push project to GitHub ↓ Developer B clones repository ↓ Create feature branch ↓ Implement feature ↓ Commit changes ↓ Push feature branch ↓ Create Pull Request ↓ Review changes ↓ Approve Pull Request ↓ Merge into main This represents a simplified version of how developers collaborate on real software projects. GIT COMMANDS COVERED git clone git branch git checkout -b git switch -c git status git add git commit git push git pull git log git diff These commands are demonstrated as part of the collaboration workflow. BRANCHING Developer B does not directly modify the main branch. Instead, a separate feature branch is created. Example: feature-student-management The feature is developed independently and then submitted for review through a Pull Request. PULL REQUEST The Pull Request is used to propose merging the feature branch into main. During the Pull Request process, we demonstrate: Reviewing changed files Checking commits Reviewing the implementation Adding review comments Approving the Pull Request Merging the Pull Request REAL-WORLD DEVELOPMENT SCENARIO Imagine a software team with multiple developers. Developer A is working on the main project. Developer B needs to add a new feature. Instead of directly changing the production branch, Developer B creates a feature branch and works independently. Once the feature is ready, the developer pushes the branch to GitHub and creates a Pull Request. Another developer reviews the changes before they are merged. This workflow helps teams maintain code quality and avoid unnecessary conflicts. INDIVIDUAL SIMULATION If you are working alone, the same workflow can be simulated using two branches. For example: main ↓ feature-developer-b You can treat: main = Developer A feature branch = Developer B This allows you to practice the same collaboration workflow without requiring another person. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN By the end of this project, you will understand: How Git collaboration works How to clone a repository How to create feature branches How developers work independently How to push branches to GitHub How Pull Requests work How to review code How to approve changes How to merge branches Why developers should avoid directly changing main How Git supports team-based development GITHUB REPOSITORY https://github.com/Ram14312/multi_dev... WHO SHOULD WATCH? This video is useful for: Python developers Beginners learning Git Students preparing for software development roles Backend developers AI and ML engineers GenAI engineers Developers preparing for real-world team environments The goal is to understand the complete collaboration cycle: Create → Clone → Branch → Develop → Commit → Push → Pull Request → Review → Merge Learn • Build • Collaborate • Grow 🚀 #Git #GitHub #GitCollaboration #GitTutorial #PullRequest #GitBranch #GitMerge #VersionControl #SoftwareDevelopment #PythonProject #CodingPractice #DeveloperWorkflow #AIEngineering
