Every sentient being has Buddha nature. In this Nyungne retreat teaching, Wangchen Rinpoche explains how purification, love, compassion, and bodhicitta help us overcome the obscurations that prevent us from recognizing our own pure nature.
Rinpoche reflects on the spiritual value of Nyungne, the Chenrezig fasting practice, and the importance of continuing to cultivate virtue. In the questions and answers, he describes the nature of mind as the inseparable union of emptiness, clarity, and unimpeded awareness, then offers practical guidance on changing habits, working with regret, and cultivating forgiveness. He emphasizes that forgiving those who have harmed us does not mean their actions were acceptable.
