What does Scottish Tobacco in Atlanta look like after closing? In this Humidor Explorer episode, I get special after-hours access to Scottish Tobacco in Atlanta's Buckhead/Lindbergh area for a private walk-through of the shop and its walk-in cigar humidor.
With the customers gone and the doors closed, I explore premium cigar collections, boutique releases, traditional tobacconist displays and several unexpected finds.
SCOTTISH TOBACCO | AN ATLANTA CIGAR DESTINATION
Owner Shafi Hai has more than 30 years of experience in the cigar industry. Before filming, I spent time with Shafi, Manny, the team and several regulars, talking about cigars and Atlanta's cigar community over espresso.
The staff kindly allowed me to document the humidor after closing so customers would not appear on camera. This episode captures that quieter, after-hours experience.
INSIDE THE TRADITIONAL TOBACCONIST
Before entering the humidor, I take a look at pipes, pipe tobacco, cigar accessories, humidors, S.T. Dupont lighters and a Cuban cigar-rolling table on display.
AFTER-HOURS HUMIDOR TOUR
Inside the walk-in humidor, I explore collections from:
Arturo Fuente, God of Fire, Plasencia, Foundation Cigars, My Father Cigars, La Flor Dominicana, Drew Estate, Perdomo, Oliva, Cavalier Genève, ATL Cigar Company, Black Label Trading Company and more.
The Arturo Fuente and God of Fire sections are among the highlights, along with unusual boutique releases and cigars I do not regularly encounter on my travels.
Although I had limited time to film after closing, this visit offered a revealing look at the range of cigars and the character of a longtime Atlanta tobacconist.
CIGAR DISCOVERIES & FINAL THOUGHTS
Toward the end, I discuss several memorable finds, including a darker-profile cigar that Manny and I talked about and a Davidoff recommendation from Shafi.
What made this visit memorable was not just the humidor. It was the hospitality and the conversations with the people behind Scottish Tobacco.
Special thanks to Shafi, Manny and the Scottish Tobacco team for welcoming Humidor Explorer and making this after-hours tour possible.
