Andhra Pradesh’s alleged liquor scam has taken a fresh turn with former APSBCL official Satya Prasad making a crucial statement before the Vijayawada ACB Court. According to reports, Satya Prasad, who has sought to become an approver in the case, made several allegations regarding the functioning of the liquor supply and distribution system during the previous YSRCP government. He reportedly alleged that around ₹3,200 crore in kickbacks were collected and claimed that former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was the ultimate beneficiary. These are allegations made in his court statement and remain subject to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings. The statement reportedly includes allegations that companies agreeing to pay commissions received liquor orders, while companies that did not agree to such payments were allegedly sidelined. It also refers to changes in the ordering system, alleged manual intervention in the automated OFS process, collection of money from distilleries, software-related changes and the transfer of data from 29 depots. Meanwhile, former YSRCP minister Ambati Rambabu has received Enforcement Directorate summons in connection with the alleged ₹400 crore liquor transportation tender case. Reports say the ED is investigating alleged irregularities in liquor transportation contracts during the previous government, including an alleged increase in transportation rates. Ambati Rambabu has questioned the timing of the notice and said he would cooperate with the investigation. The ED is expected to issue a fresh date for his appearance after he did not attend on the date mentioned in the earlier notice.
