Prince Rama Varma - Pavana Thanaya - Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna (Explanation)

A brilliant explanation by Prince Rama Varma, about the 72nd Melakarta Raga composition on Lord Sri Hanuman by Dr.Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna. This dissonant Raga is called Rasikapriya, but the brilliance of the composition and the tender and loving way in which Varma ji sings it, makes it glow like a jewel. I often tell Varma ji that everything he sings, is Rasikapriya (That which sounds lovely to music lovers.) I am constantly fascinated by how lightly and easily Varma ji carries the weight of his immense Vidwat or scholarship and he cites Rafael Nadal as an example of how one could be a champion and still remain grounded and completely down to earth and real.
