Will Your Doctor Still Be In-Network in 2027? Check Before You Choose

Choosing a Medicare plan for 2027? Before you enroll, make sure your doctors, specialists, hospitals, and other providers will still work with the plan you’re considering. In this video, we explain how to check whether your providers are in-network, what to look for in your plan’s provider directory and Annual Notice of Change, and why it’s smart to confirm directly with both the plan and the doctor’s office. Provider networks can change, and a doctor appearing in a directory is not a substitute for checking that they accept the specific plan for 2027. This is especially important when comparing Medicare Advantage plans, which may use provider networks. If you have Original Medicare, check whether your provider accepts Medicare. Medicare Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs October 15 through December 7, 2026. Changes made during this period generally take effect January 1, 2027.
