Today I’m painting an autumn leaf using the Daniel Smith Autumn Triad watercolor set! I love how autumn leaves combine warm oranges and golden browns with unexpected purples and earthy shadows. In this painting, I’m exploring how these colors interact, mingle, and create those beautiful, unpredictable watercolor textures. I’ll build up the leaf in layers, let the colors blend naturally, and add the delicate veins to bring out the leaf’s shape and character. A few splatters finish the painting with a little extra autumn energy. Come along as I explore another watercolor experiment on my art journey! If you enjoy watercolor painting, art supplies, and creative experiments, please like the video and subscribe to Going Places with Color. Which part of this leaf do you like best — the orange, the purple, or the way they blend together? Do you see a place for these in your palette? Let me know in the comments.
