Trieste, Italy | Oceania Allura Adriatic and Mediterranean Cruise

Join us in Trieste, Italy, the first stop on our Mediterranean cruise aboard Oceania Allura. Our local guide, Marco, takes us on a private walking tour of this fascinating Adriatic city—and you're invited to come along. We begin in magnificent Piazza Unità d'Italia and explore Trieste's remarkable mixture of Italian, Austrian and Central European influences. Along the way we'll visit the Grand Canal, the ancient Roman Theatre, the Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint Spyridon, the Cathedral and Castle of San Giusto, and remnants of Roman Tergeste. We'll meet James Joyce, enjoy spectacular views over the city and Adriatic, stop for the obligatory Aperol Spritz, and even stumble upon a rehearsal of Richard Strauss's Elektra. Our visit ends high above Trieste at the Sanctuary of Monte Grisa before we return to Oceania Allura and continue our Mediterranean journey.
