Corfu, Greece | Oceania Allura Mediterranean Cruise

Join us in Corfu, Greece, the next stop on our Mediterranean cruise aboard Oceania Allura. Our guide Sophia takes us through this beautiful Ionian island, beginning with Corfu’s imposing Old Fortress and the unusual Church of Saint George, built by the British as an Anglican church and later converted to Greek Orthodox use. From there we explore Corfu Old Town, including the elegant Liston and Spianada, the bell tower of Saint Spyridon, the narrow Venetian-style kantounia, and the Palace of Saint Michael and Saint George. Along the way we encounter Byzantine art, Roman mosaics, colorful squares and streets—and, naturally, one of Corfu’s culinary specialties, pastitsada. Corfu’s long history has been shaped by Greeks, Romans, Venetians, French and British, creating an island unlike anywhere else in Greece.
