Inktober Tangles Day 20 — Hearty Wyfore Some patterns are drawn. Others feel forged, one deliberate stroke at a time. Hearty Wyfore by Zentangle Inc. is a playful variation on the traditional Wyfore tangle. With its mirrored S-curves and curled scroll-like elements, this pattern has a beautiful, old-world character that lends itself to all sorts of creative possibilities. I began by experimenting in my sketchbook, playing with pink and black inks, adding glitter, and surrounding Hearty Wyfore with a glorious Diva Dance. The colourful hearts, flowing scrolls, and shimmering details gave me plenty of room to explore the pattern and discover what it could become. For my final Inktober piece, I took a more dramatic route. A large, three-tier Hearty Wyfore became the centrepiece, with intricate internal scrolls, tiny dots, white highlights, and delicate shading. I layered black outlines with silver glitter accents and fine white detailing, letting each contour catch the light against the earthy brown paper. The result feels like a curious meeting of a medieval shield, an ornate cartouche, and a precious object from a forgotten treasure chest. Every curl and tiny mark contributes to the design, while the contrast between dark ink, bright white, and shimmering silver gives the whole piece its depth and presence. This is what I love about Inktober: starting with a tangle I may never have explored in quite this way, experimenting freely, and discovering how much personality can emerge from a repeating pattern. The sketchbook is where I get to play; the final piece is where those experiments find a different kind of expression. A little ink, a little glitter, a whole lot of intention. And something shiny to show for it. #InktoberTangles #InktoberTangles2026 #Inktober2026 #HeartyWyfore #ZentangleInc #Zentangle #SilverAlchemy #MetallicArt #GlitterArt #Scrollwork #MedievalInspiredArt #DivaDance #InkPlay #Riddhikulus
