Diablos Baseball vs South Bay Spades 3 of 6

Diablos 10U came away with a 6-2 victory over South Bay Spades 10U on Sunday at Manzanita Park, using strong pitching and a late offensive push to secure the win. Diablos struck first in the top of the first inning. Cheo C singled down the left-field line to bring home a run, and Victor Q stole home to give the Diablos an early 2-0 advantage. South Bay battled back and tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth. Logan H delivered an RBI double, and Greyson L helped bring home another run on a tag-up. The Diablos responded immediately. Ryan S came through with a clutch single in the top of the fifth to put Diablos 10U back in front, 3-2. From there, the Diablos pulled away, adding three more runs to secure the 6-2 victory. Ivan P delivered an outstanding performance on the mound to earn the win. The starter worked five and two-thirds innings, allowing just two runs on six hits while striking out four and walking only one. Jaxon C took the loss for South Bay Spades 10U. The left-hander pitched five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out four and walking two. Mikah G provided a spark in the heart of the Diablos lineup, going 2-for-3 and leading the team with two RBIs. Victor and Mikah each collected two hits in the victory. The Diablos also created havoc on the base paths. Victor and Cheo each stole multiple bases as Diablos 10U finished the game with nine stolen bases. Logan led South Bay Spades with two hits in three at-bats, while Marco M and Logan each drove in a run. Logan and Greyson each stole multiple bases as South Bay finished with seven stolen bases. With timely hitting, aggressive base running, and a strong outing from Ivan on the mound, Diablos 10U turned a 2-2 tie into a convincing 6-2 victory.
