Two boys walk into the golden court of Ayodhya and begin to sing. On the throne, Sri Rama weeps — the song is his own life story. But he does not know the singers are his own sons. This is the Valmiki Ramayana — the Adi Kavya, the world's first poem — told in full, as cinema, part by part, true to the original text (and where Tamil poet Kamban tells it differently, we show both). In Part 1: Valmiki's question to Narada · the two krauncha birds and the first verse ever composed · King Dasharatha without an heir · Ravana's boon · the gift of fire · the birth of Rama · the sage who asked for Rama · the forest of Tataka. 🔱 Complete series — Part 2: the divine weapons, how Bhagiratha brought the Ganga, Ahalya.
