From Grammy-nominated country hits to Broadway musicals and Hollywood soundtracks, Jamie Floyd is one of Nashville's most versatile and accomplished creative talents.
Jamie Floyd is a Nashville-based, three-time Grammy-nominated songwriter, recording artist, theatrical composer, and storyteller whose extraordinary career spans country music, pop, film, television, and musical theater.
With songs recorded by Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, Miranda Lambert, Ronnie Dunn, Brian Wilson, Ingrid Andress, Madi Diaz, and numerous others, Jamie has established herself as a songwriter whose work crosses genres and reaches audiences around the world.
Three Grammy-Nominated Projects
Jamie's songwriting has been featured on three Grammy-nominated albums:
"The Blade" – Ashley Monroe: Jamie co-wrote the title track of Monroe's album The Blade, nominated for Best Country Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards. The song, also recorded by Miranda Lambert and Ronnie Dunn, became one of Jamie's signature compositions.
"Anything But Love" – Ingrid Andress: Jamie co-wrote this song for Andress's debut album Lady Like, nominated for Best Country Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
"For Months Now" – Madi Diaz: Co-written with Madi Diaz and Wrabel, this song appears on Diaz's album Weird Faith, nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Other notable songwriting credits include "I Would've Loved You," recorded by Kelly Clarkson and Jake Hoot, and "Resentment," recorded by Kesha.
From Nashville to Hollywood and Broadway
Jamie's remarkable talents extend well beyond the recording studio.
As a composer for film and television, she wrote and performed the entire 12-song soundtrack for Burt Reynolds' final film, The Last Movie Star. Her song "Yet to Come," co-written with John Martin, earned the Nashville Film Festival's award for Best Song in a Feature Film.
Her screen credits also include:
A Country Christmas Story – Original songs for the Dolly Parton television movie, including music performed by Brian McKnight.
Manson's Lost Girls – Original music and theme for the Lifetime television movie.
Glimpse – Wrote and performed "Oh Darlin'," the film's only original song.
Dakota – Wrote and recorded "Let It Shine" for the film's closing scene.
Nashville – Co-wrote "Mississippi Flood," performed by Hayden Panettiere's character on the ABC series.
The Voice – Her vocals were featured in NBC promotional commercials introducing Reba McEntire as a coach.
Jamie has also emerged as an accomplished musical theater composer and lyricist, creating original scores and songs for stage productions developed through respected theater organizations, including Playwrights Horizons and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
Her theatrical work includes an award-winning score originally developed for The King's Wife, a country music murder-mystery musical, and original music for Theophany Musical. She also wrote the title song for the Off-Broadway production Little Christmas Miracles, making her Off-Broadway debut as both a songwriter and performer.
Her ability to create music that tells compelling stories across so many different mediums has made Jamie a distinctive voice in Nashville and beyond.
