"Local Governance, Civic Participation, and Social Peace in Syria" workshop

عقدت منظمة سِكَك في دمشق ورشة لمناقشة نتائج دراسة «الحوكمة المحلية والمشاركة المدنية والسلام المجتمعي في سوريا»، المستندة إلى عمل ميداني في أربع محافظات سورية، بمشاركة ممثلين عن الإدارة المحلية والمجتمع المدني والسفارات والجهات المانحة والباحثين. ناقشت الورشة واقع الحوكمة والمشاركة المجتمعية، وسبل تعزيز التنسيق المحلي، وتوسيع مشاركة النساء، ودعم الفاعلين المدنيين لبناء مجتمعات أكثر شمولاً واستجابة لاحتياجاتها. تؤمن سِكَك بأن تحويل نتائج البحث إلى توصيات عملية يبدأ بالحوار والشراكة والاستماع إلى أولويات المجتمعات المحلية. عُقدت الورشة باستضافة منصة مدنيّة في مقرّها في "بيت فارحي" في دمشق، في فضاء يليق بحجم النقاش وعمق الأسئلة التي طُرحت فيه. --------- SYCAC Organization held a workshop in Damascus to discuss the findings of its study, “Local Governance, Civic Participation, and Social Peace in Syria,” which draws on fieldwork conducted across four Syrian governorates. The workshop brought together representatives of local administration, civil society, embassies, donor organizations, and the research community. Discussions explored the current state of local governance and community participation, ways to strengthen local coordination, expand women’s participation, and support civil society actors in building more inclusive communities that are responsive to people’s needs. SYCAC believes that translating research findings into practical recommendations begins with dialogue, partnership, and listening to the priorities of local communities. The workshop was hosted by Madaniya Network at its headquarters in Beit Farhi, Damascus, providing a space that reflected the depth of the discussion and the significance of the questions raised.
