Dimension X - "The Lost Race" (Old Time Radio, 1950)

Dimension X presents “The Lost Race,” episode 7, originally broadcast on May 20, 1950. This early live NBC science-fiction drama was adapted by Ernest Kinoy from Murray Leinster’s story, with Norman Rose as host and narrator. When the space freighter Carilya strays far from its charted course, Captain Wharton and his crew must land on a green, uncharted world. There, archaeologist Howell discovers ruins connected to a civilization known as the Lost Race—but a damaged ship, uncertain prospects for return, and growing tension among the crew make the exploration increasingly perilous. Matt Crowley stars as Captain Wharton, with Roger DeKoven as Howell and Joseph Julian as Danton. Dimension X presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
