Is. 1:16-20 Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD, Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
Walking with God is for Doers. It’s a life of Daily Doing. It doesn’t work for Wishers and Hopers.
Walking with Jesus isn’t for Settlers. We need to design our lives for Forward Progress, and learn to walk with our Heavenly Provider rather than waiting on our earthly environment to support us. Since our Leader is always moving forward, if you want to BE with Him but don’t want to WALK, you’ll always have trouble staying up. The reason for our failures is always Needing without Doing.
Over the next 3 weeks I will give you 3 very basic lessons, designed for mobility, for those who want to walk with God. They are:
What to DO
What to BE, and
What to AVOID
All the wisdom you need in life to succeed with God is consolidated in practicing these 3 things: Knowing what to DO, BE and AVOID.
So today I’m going to give you the framework in which to understand and apply these 3 lessons so you can do them.
Here’s the framework: It’s understanding God’s principle of DAILY LIVING. First let’s talk about…
LIVING
Jesus is LIFE. He Streamlines the exhausting complexities of living into simply Pursuing Him.
Mt. 6:33 Seek first the K’dom and all these things will be added…
Luke 10:42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.
The secret to Living is making Jesus your Go-To…
Psa. 91:1,16 He who LIVES in the secret place of the Most High (there’s your Go-To) shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty…With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.
Daily fellowship with your Heavenly Father is the potting soil of your life. Everything grows from that connection.
Now let’s learn God’s secret of Creation: Everything is designed to renew…
DAILY
The 24hr. period, known as a Day, is God’s working metric. It’s the heartbeat and pace of life. Learn to use it and you’ll learn to LIVE!
Psa. 90:12 So teach us to number our DAYS, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Daily Doing is God’s formula for happiness. The overwhelming projects of weeks, months and years are accomplished one day at a time.
Learn to manage A Day, you’ll learn to manage your life.
People who don’t understand the value of a day fixate on life’s big projects and become paralyzed with anxiety. How do you eat a 16oz steak without choking? One bite at a time. God gave you teeth for the same reason He gave you days.
The Christian who walks with Jesus, by practicing the principles of what to DO, BE, & AVOID, will end up a year from now, being where Jesus is, doing what He’s doing.
Christianity is a life for Daily Doers. Jesus said, If you know these things, blessed are you if you DO them. — John 13:17
God’s principles of what to DO, BE, & AVOID, are designed for your Provider to be with you wherever He leads. Many Christians starve in a land of blessing because they don’t DO the farming. This is what is meant by Waiting upon the Lord…
Is. 40:29-31 He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that WAIT upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Waiting upon the Lord isn’t standing around worrying. It’s practicing what to DO, BE, & AVOID, in anticipation of God’s promise…
If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.
Next week we will learn the 1st of 3 lessons of how to successfully walk with God through life.
