👋 Can you introduce yourself naturally in Chinese?
You may already know how to say 你好 and 我叫…, but what should you say next? How can you talk about your country, city, job, and hobbies without making your introduction too long?
In this HSK 1–2 Chinese listening lesson, Zhang Yue and Li Yang have a natural conversation about meeting new people. They share simple expressions, everyday stories, and practical examples for introducing yourself in Chinese.
🎯 This lesson is suitable for:
🔹 HSK 1–2 learners
🔹 Complete beginners and elementary learners
🔹 Learners who want to make Chinese-speaking friends
🔹 Anyone who feels nervous when meeting new people
🧠 In this episode, you will learn how to:
🔹 Greet someone for the first time
🔹 Introduce your name clearly
🔹 Talk about your country and city
🔹 Describe your job in simple Chinese
🔹 Share your hobbies
🔹 Ask questions and continue the conversation
💬 Useful expressions:
🔹 你好,我叫张月。
🔹 很高兴认识你。
🔹 我来自法国,现在住在北京。
🔹 我在一家公司工作。
🔹 我喜欢看书和听音乐。
🔹 你平时喜欢做什么?
💡 A simple introduction method:
Try using three sentences and one question.
第一句话:说自己的名字。
第二句话:说国家、城市或者工作。
第三句话:说一个自己的爱好。
最后:问对方一个简单的问题。
For example:
你好,我叫李阳。
我来自北京,现在在一家公司工作。
我喜欢运动,也喜欢看电影。
你平时喜欢做什么?
You do not need to give a long speech. Share a little information, ask a question, and listen carefully to the other person’s answer. This will make the conversation feel more natural.
🎭 Real-life situations in this lesson:
🔹 Meeting a classmate in a Chinese class
🔹 Talking to someone in a park
🔹 Meeting a new person at a birthday party
🔹 Introducing your name when someone does not hear it clearly
🎯 Recommended practice:
First time: Listen to the complete conversation and understand the main ideas.
Second time: Pay attention to the sentences used to introduce names, countries, jobs, and hobbies.
Third time: Pause after each useful sentence and repeat it aloud.
Daily practice: Use three sentences and one question to introduce yourself. You can practise with a friend or speak in front of a mirror.
💬 今天的两个问题:
第一个问题,张月在生日会上认识的女孩子叫什么名字?
第二个问题,安娜来自哪个国家?
Please write your two answers in the comments. You can write only the answers or respond with complete Chinese sentences.
Do not wait until your Chinese is perfect. Start with a smile and a simple 你好. One short introduction can be the beginning of a new friendship.
