Silas Callow – The Wind Was Already Up (Official Audio)

I started "The Wind Was Already Up" with Estherville, Iowa, and the people who go there to train for work high above the fields. The image that stayed with me was a supermarket name tag left in a glovebox beside a new pair of work gloves. The song stays with the part of starting over that comes before confidence. The first climb ends halfway up. She comes down safely, listens, and returns the next morning. The wind does not wait for her to feel ready. She climbs while it is there, one cold rung at a time. From my second album, The First Water Through. #SilasCallow #DarkAmericana #TheWindWasAlreadyUp
