Possession Bar Coho Chaos: ~30 Wild Fish Released for 3 Hatchery Keepers

Niles, Lawrence, and I brought a few of the kids out on Niles's Stabicraft 2250 to the middle of Possession Bar in Marine Area 9 to try for some hatchery coho. It was a pretty wild morning of fishing! We sorted through something like 30 wild fish, plus flounder and dogfish, and only kept 3 hatchery coho....3. Most of our fish came jigging, and this video only shows some of what we hooked. By the end of the morning we were getting a bit burnt out from releasing so many really nice coho. The highlight for me was my daughter jigging up a coho and a king on her own. I did have to help her manage the rod, but she had the jigging technique down herself. Proud papa moments. The lowlight was snagging a downrigger on a random crab pot in the middle of the bar and losing the 15 lb ball. Also worth a mention: we ran across Niles's old blue 1550 Stabicraft. What are the odds that we'd cross trolling paths? The dude doesn't even live up this way! I haven't gotten out as much as I'd like this season, but the trips I have made it out on have been a blast.
