E30B - Assistive Door System

The Smart Assistive Door System for Disabled & Elderly is an IoT-based prototype designed to enhance accessibility and independence for individuals with mobility challenges. Categorized under Assistive Technology, this system integrates an ESP32 microcontroller with an Ultrasonic Sensor and Blynk Mobile App as inputs, paired with a 180 Servo Motor, I2C LCD, and dual LEDs as outputs. When a user approaches, the ultrasonic sensor detects their presence within certain range and automatically opens the door while displaying status updates and indicator lights. Alternatively, caregivers can remotely control the door via the Blynk App over Wi-Fi. Supporting SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), this project solves physical barriers faced by disabled and elderly individuals, offering a safe, automated, and dignified smart home solution.
