🚧 POWER GENERATOR BLOCKING WALKWAYS REMOVED ON UHURU HIGHWAY | JKIA–WESTLANDS UPGRADES Major developments are taking shape along Uhuru Highway in Nairobi as work continues under the ongoing JKIA–Westlands infrastructure upgrades. In this latest update, we take a closer look at the pedestrian walkways beneath the elevated highway, where a power generator that had been occupying part of the walkway area has been removed, opening up the space for pedestrian movement. In this on-the-ground update, we explore the newly accessible sections of the paved walkways, the yellow tactile paving designed to assist visually impaired pedestrians, and the surrounding infrastructure beneath the highway. We also examine the ongoing finishing works and how these improvements are shaping the pedestrian experience along this busy transport corridor.
