Over 7,000 Detained: Dhruv Rathee, Abhijeet Dipke and Imran Khan Caught in Protest | ISH News

CJP and opposition groups planned protests in Delhi and Mumbai on 10 October 2026, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained at Delhi airport before reaching Jantar Mantar. YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and actor Imran Khan were also among those detained, along with hundreds of other protesters. Police cited security concerns and the lack of permission for the gatherings. Protesters questioned the detentions and raised concerns about the right to peaceful protest. The controversy grew after a dispute over whether Dipke was offered the chance to attend his grandmother’s funeral while in detention. Here is what happened and why the incident has sparked debate. #CJPProtest #AbhijeetDipke #DhruvRathee #DelhiNews #MumbaiNews #JantarMantar #RightToProtest #IndianPolitics #ISHNews #IndiaSigningHands #ISH #ISHNews #ISL #IndianSignLanguage #SignLanguage ISH News broadcasts the Daily News and Entertainment online in Deaf-friendly accessible formats which are in Indian Sign Language (ISL), visual images with titles, voice-over and closed-captions.
