A Day in the Hay Field

Here we are trying to beat the rain for this early part of the hay season. In this video, we have already cut the hay and are teddering it so it can dry in the early summer sun...oh but the clouds are looming. Our tractor in field is a Massey Ferguson 1085, our biggest work horse on the homestead. Lovingly dubbed "Butterbean", this late 70's model is reliable and easy to service. 'Cause, let face it, even new models break down and it's easy to get parts for these tractors. Love you Butterbean! The 1085 was purchased to handle round baling on the steep slopes of the foothills of Tennessee... as you can witness in our breath taking scenery. Hoping our weather holds out as we harvest hay for the animals on the farm.
